Linking Lookup Tables to Rule Set

Postby kinrarateoh » Wed Dec 09, 2009 11:14 pm

I am required to setup SunSystems for import of external data via Transfer Manager. The external file is in fixed column fixed position text file format.

I have created two lookup tables .

Lookup Table 1 :
Key values are the Account Code and Product data from the external file. Base on the combination, SunSystems corresponding Account Code is set in the Preset Value 1.

Lookup Table 2 :
Key values are the Profit Centre and Cost Centre data from the external file. Based on the combination, SunSystems corresponding T0 Analysis Code is set in the Preset Value 1 box.

In Rule Set, how do I tell the system which table to use to output the Preset Value 1 and set in the Account Code and also the T0 Analysis Code of SunSystems?

I am also required to set the Period in SunSystems based on the Transaction Date data in the external file, which is in yyyymmdd format. How do I setup the rule set to capture this data in SunSystems' Period format?

My setup does not output these 3 items, and I have to get this up and running early next week. Please advice.

Thank you.

Can Lookup Tables be used to lookup external file data? Can the preset value specified in that Lookup Table be used to set the Ledger Record in Rule Sets? Or can the Lookup TAbles be used for SunSystems Reference Data only, NOT External File Data?

Thanks Illarion. I have actually already gone through the user note. And I am happy to inform that I have got it all setup and working.

I discovered that if I combine the Account Code and Product in one key value, that solves the problem. Same goes for the Profit Centre and Cost Centre. If I specify them as two separate key values in the Lookup Table, the rule set do not work. I wonder why?
