Use Query mode to extract, view and analyse SunSystems information in queries designed in Design mode. Access to Query mode is available when you open the program through Vision Executive Design and Vision Executive Query. Design mode is also available through Vision Executive Design, but only Query mode is available through Vision Executive Query. If you access the program through Vision Executive Query, when you open a workbook, the default mode is Query. Special Vision Executive functions, including a Query menu, toolbar and Drill menu, are provided to assist you with your analysis. You can analyse information using the query functions to determine the composition of a particular cell or ranges of cells within the same row or column. Using query functions creates a worksheet called a dependent worksheet, which is linked to the primary worksheet and displayed in the Drill Tree. You can view lower levels of information on primary and dependent worksheets until ultimately, you can view the initial transactions or journals that made up the amount. You can extract SunSystems information to analyse it, by clicking Query on the Designer menu in the workbook you want to extract. Query mode becomes the active mode. An option is also available to open Vision in Query mode by clicking the Vision Executive Query icon. Vision Executive queries can be output in a number of ways. They can be printed, transferred to an Excel format or saved to the Clipboard. Download Vision Exec report examples
When you run a workbook first you will be prompted with Query form: Click here to see a screenshot Press Extract Primary Worksheets button. The results of the extraction will be displayed in the Excel-like workbook: Click here to see a screenshot The Query menu contains functions represented by buttons used to analyze queries. These buttons make up the drill menu. You can slice and dice information in Vision Exec in many different ways Right click on the cell with the data Query Menu will be displayed. Prompt
Prompt is available for queries with the same base criteria, i.e. account code, A-Code, asset code and F Code, allowing these criteria to be modified and the query extracted many times without creating entirely new queries. For example, if all criteria are based on the account code 64001, you can click Prompt to redefine the account code to 64012. Clicking Extract updates all criteria to reflect information relating to the new account code. Prompt is used in conjunction with the Extract button that appears on the drill menu after the prompt function is used. Clicking an amount then clicking the Prompt button on the query menu displays the Account Code dialog box. Filter
You can filter information by Drilldown, Breakout, worksheet, data matrix or transactions using the filter function. Filters limit the extraction to the definitions you specify and you can apply further filters on a filtered query. Filter is used in conjunction with the Extract button that appears on the drill menu after the filter function is used. Drilldown
Using Drilldown you can display the composition of any extracted amount. Available options depend on the analysis codes set up in the SunSystems database. Click here to see a screenshot You can drill down on a previously drilled amount and also drill down to the transactions that make up the amount. Click here to see a screenshot There are no restrictions on drilldowns within the structure of the SunSystems database using Vision Executive.
Breakout
Breakout simultaneously generates a number of like reports across different analysis codes. Click here to see a screenshot For example, if T-Code 0 comprised ten department codes, Breakout would produce ten reports of the same format with each report showing the data for that department. Click here to see a screenshot You can also use Expand functionality by clicking Expand button. It does exactly the same as breakout by results are shown on one worksheet with the possibility to collapse and expend them: Click here to see a screenshot
Data Matrix
Using Data Matrix, you can apply analysis options to rows and columns to specify a data matrix report with drill down options on the rows and columns. Apply an orientation to initially arrange analysis options on rows and columns. You can drag and drop analysis options between rows and columns later if required. Data matrix figures are revised every time you change the analysis option arrangement. Data matrix is an independent analysis function and does not create a dependent worksheet, however, a data matrix profile can be created then saved for later use. A data matrix layout can also be saved for later use.
Transactions
You can display the transactions that make up a selected value using the transaction function. Click here to see a screenshot Clicking an amount then clicking the Transactions button on the query menu displays all transactions that make up the amount.
