Overview
Vision Executive is an inquiry and reporting tool that can be used by any business executive to directly access and analyse data held in a SunSystems database. Vision Executive is a powerful data inquiry and reporting system that allows you to examine data held in SunSystems databases.
Vision Executive has been purpose-built to operate with SunSystems. It utilises knowledge of the SunSystems file structure and the analysis code structure to anticipate user requirements. This means designing the most complex inquiry, i.e. a query, is a very simple process. The design of Vision Executive embodies an understanding of SunSystems data structure, making complex data inquiries easy to design.
Vision Executive goes well beyond the simple query. Vision Executive allows you to examine financial data with tools such as Drilldown and Data Matrix.
Vision Executive functions use workbooks and worksheets similar to those in Excel. Each cell of a worksheet can be specified with SunSystems data. Any cell can have a unique set of criteria, allowing the inclusion of many databases in a single inquiry and providing increased flexibility, without column and row constraints.
Cells can be also defined as Vision ODBC data using SQL statements. The results can then be analysed by a Vision ODBC Drilldown that displays the information in a user defined formatted grid. Alerts can also be used to create table records in specified data tables.
Vision Executive Architecture
Vision Executive operates in two distinct modes:
- Design mode, where a query is designed and and the analysis component
- Query mode, where a query is extracted, viewed and information is analysed.
You can open the Vision Executive program in Design mode or directly in Query mode for immediate analysis of a query.
In Query mode, you can analyse the extracted information in substantial detail. It is possible to drill on queries to identify information relating to values down to the specific transactions that make up the values. There is also a Data Matrix function where you can design a display to present the information in a range of different views.If you open Vision Executive Design you have access to both modes. If you open Vision Executive Query you can only access Query mode.
Vision Executive makes extensive use of the SunSystems analysis code and data code structure in its design.
