It's possible to run any external application from within SunSystems. For example, you can create a folder in SunSystems navigation where you will store the links to your Excel reports. By double clicking one of this links, you will be able to open your Excel file from within SunSystems.
Let's create a link to an Excel file report.xls from Sun. In order to do this, you have to open NM - Navigation Manager, check out the menu that belongs to your operator group and add a link to an external function. In this example we will create a link to Microsoft Excel. 1. Start NM - Navigation Manager 2. Checkout the menu structure 3. Choose the folder where you want to add your external function link. Read here more on how to work with Navigation Manager 4. Right click and from the menu select Insert Function. 5. Enter the following information and press Ok:
 6. Provide External Function Properties as shown below:
 7. Save the menu and check it in. Next time you log into Sun you will be able to open your Excel report directly from Sun.
