Page 1 of 2 A location is a specific storage area with a particular set of storage characteristics which can be linked to other Inventory Storage Areas, that is, Warehouses and Zones. This is usually the smallest level of location. For example, it could be a shelf in an area of a warehouse.
The Inventory Locations Setup (ILS) form contains the following: Click here to see the screenshot General Tab Location Code An identifying code for the location. This might include part of the address, the description of the type of goods it holds, or its storage characteristics. For example, BLACK3 may store the colour black of the product in size 3 containers. Warehouse Code If required, you can link a warehouse to this location by entering its code in this field. If you want to do this, the warehouse must already have been set up in Warehouses Setup (WS). When the Warehouse Code is entered, its description is shown automatically. Zone Code If required, you can link a zone to this location by entering its code in this field. If you want to do this, the zone must already have been set up in Inventory Zones Setup (IZS). When the Zone Code is entered, its description is shown automatically. Location Name A name to identify the location. Location Locked If this box is checked the location is locked. Reason Code The reason why the location is locked. The Reason Code must already have been set up in Reason Codes Setup (RCS). When the Reason Code is entered, its description is shown automatically. Quarantined If this box is checked the location is quarantined, which prevents allocation but allows transfers, and is included in the unlocked balance. Suppressed If this box is checked suppressing items is allowed, which means they are ignored in inventory counts.
