An employee is a person used by your organization to work, but it can also refer to a resource, such as a contractor.
You can create and maintain information about individual employees using Employees Setup (ES) and, once defined, you can assign them roles and analysis codes using Employee Assign Roles.
An Employee Role is the primary function performed by an employee of an organization, although an employee may be assigned multiple roles. The identification of the employee primary role is maintained in the Employee Setup (ES) function.

This information is used by numerous functions depending on your organization and the modules you use. For example, Customers Setup, Suppliers Setup, Purchase Order Entry and Sales Order Entry.
The Employees Setup (ES) form contains the following fields:

Employee Code
Identifying code for the employee. For example, their company employee reference number.
Personal Details Tab
Title
The title of the employee. For example, Mr, Mrs or Miss.
First Name
The employee's first name.
Initials
The employee's initials.
Other Names
Additional name for the employee, other than their first name.
Family Name
The employee's family name or surname.
Third Name
Additional name for the employee, other than their first name and surname.
Gender
Gender of the employee.
Address Code
Code for the address of the employee as defined in Addresses Setup (AS).
Primary Role Code
Code for the primary employee role for the employee. Click here to see What are Employee Roles? and Amending Employee Roles for more information.
Date Employment Commenced
Date that the employee commenced employment.
Social Security Number
Social security number for the employee.
Telephone Number
The employee's telephone number, including international dialling code.
Mobile Phone Number
The employee's mobile telephone number.
E-mail Address
Full e-mail address of the employee.

Analysis Dimension Id
The Analysis Dimension to be applied to the employee record. See Setting up Analysis Dimensions for more information about this functionality.
Analysis Code
The required analysis code for the Analysis Dimension. See Setting up Analysis Codes for more information about this functionality.
