Page 1 of 3 An employee is a person used by your organization to work, but it can also refer to a resource, such as a contractor. You can create and maintain information about individual employees using Employees Setup (ES) and, once defined, you can assign them roles and analysis codes using Employee Assign Roles. An Employee Role is the primary function performed by an employee of an organization, although an employee may be assigned multiple roles. The identification of the employee primary role is maintained in the Employee Setup (ES) function.
This information is used by numerous functions depending on your organization and the modules you use. For example, Customers Setup, Suppliers Setup, Purchase Order Entry and Sales Order Entry.
