Ledger Import (LI) is used to import journal files into SunSystems Financials. It can be invoked by the system to automatically post generated journals, for example to post corporate allocation journals. It can also be invoked manually to post selected journal import files, once they have been placed on the ledger import file table.
The following steps are required to use Ledger Import manually to post selected journal files:
1. Select Ledger Import from the Navigation Manager to list the current ledger import files on the Ledger Import Control Desk.

2. Select the journal files to be imported. See Selecting Items on a Control Desk.
3. From the Action menu select Review to list the selected batches on the Control Desks In-Tray.

Note: At this stage you can deselect any batches you do not wish to process, if required.
4. In the Batch Process field, select Ledger Import Process.
5. Click OK to display the Ledger Import Run-Time Parameters window.

6. For each journal selected for processing, in turn:

Enter the import run-time parameters for the journal. From the Action menu select Process, or click the Process button, to validate and import the journal. The journal number assigned to the journal is displayed, together with any relevant error messages. When the import process is complete, the Ledger Import Validation Report dialog appears summarizing the import processing results. Enter the reporting requirements and click Print to produce the ledger import validation and posting report. The run-time parameters window reappears with the details of the next journal selected for processing.

Once all of the journal batches have been processed, click Exit to return to the Control Desk In-Tray.
If you want to select another group of journals for processing, repeat the steps above from step 4.
Alternatively, click Exit to return to the Ledger Import Control Desk. Again you may choose to select another group of journals for processing, or click Exit.
