In this example we will create a transformation profile to reverse journal using transformation designer and transfer profile designer. After that we will run transfer desk to reverse a range of journals. This transformation will reverse the sign indicator on journal transaction lines.

To create a profile and transformation that reverses the debit/credit sign of a journal:
From Navigation Manager, open Transformation Designer (TXD).
Create a new TML script entering the following information:
Name: Reverse Journal.
Description: Reverse the debit/credit sign in a journal.
Source Data Type: Ledger.
Target Data Type: Ledger.
This creates the basic mapping required during the transfer of data.

Now we need to create a function that will reverse the D/C marker.

At the bottom of the Transformation Designer screen click the button "Define functions...". A function window will pop-up.

Click Add button and enter the function name "rvrsedebcred".
See the screenshot below for more details about the function. Once done click Valida function button to check that the syntax is correct. Click Ok button to save the function.

Now in the TML Details area find a row with <DebitCredit> in target:Ledger column.
Click Operation drop-down box and choose "Function". The corresponding Source:Ledger box will become red click on it.
Define the fields as they are shown on this screenshot. Now you will use DebitCredit field as a input parameter for your function "rvrsedebcred". Click here to see a screenshot

Click Ok. And save your transformation profile.
Open Transfer Profile Designer (TPD)

Create a new profile and enter all details as shown on this screenshot.
