Page 7 of 7 Symptom SunSystems 5 fails to connect to a remote server that is located on the secure side of a firewall mechanism. Possible Cause(s) The specific port numbers available to the software to successfully traverse the security zone of a firewall system need to be programmed into the initialisation file sun5.ini. Port numbers specified by a default install do not match the configuration of the security firewall. The default behaviour of the system is to randomly allocate a transmission port through negotiation between the client and the server components. This method is rejected by firewall security mechanisms, and attempts to use the software through such a secure system, without modification, will fail. Solution(s) Please refer to technical support for further direction in configuring firewall enabled SunSystems 5 configuration. sun5.ini setting – Direct-Connect-Port, Direct-Connect-Port-Range. Symptom Message displayed: Business unit/Operator setup record mismatch Possible Cause(s) Here the SuperUser SUN password has a password that differs inside the SunSystems 5 authentication scheme and the system database. Therefore login fails. The password has probably been changed. Solution(s) Initiate SQL Enterprise Manager or Oracle Enterprise Manager and navigate to Security/Logins, and re-enter the expected password for the SuperUser SUN. The SunSystems 5 SuperUser SUN password must only be changed using the software interface. Symptom Message displayed: Permission Denied. File Permissions and Ownership – unable to read FORM or DATA due to prohibitive OS user or group permissions Possible Cause(s) Incorrect system user permissions. Solution(s) Adjust the system user permissions to match those dictated in the "Installing SunSystems" guide 5 section. Refer to your system administrator for further information on setting file permissions.
Symptom Message displayed: Cannot successfully download Possible Cause(s) SunSystems 5 preferences check for location of download DIR for MSG, RFX, OPX files. Solution(s) Ensure that the directory location of these SunSystems 5 files has suitable access permissions. Refer to your system administrator for assistance in setting file permissions. SymptomMessage displayed: Database Login Failure. Possible Cause(s)SuperUser= entry in sun5.ini specifies an incorrect SunSystems SuperUser Schema. Solution(s)Correct the SuperUser= entry in sun5.ini to specify the SunSystems SuperUser specified at the time of installation. Only registered users can write comments. Please login or register.
