Extract Modes
Extract Modes enable the user to extract not just the sum of items, but also:
  • The number of rows (Count) • Average • the smallest value in a column(Minimum)
  • The largest value in a column(Maximum)
  • The number of distinct items in a column(Distinct Count)
  • The number of distinct values in a column(Distinct Sum)
  • The average of the unique values in a column(Distinct Average)  
The Extract Modes available differ according to the function being used.
In the Output window highlight LA\Base Amount data item and press button. The Extraction Type window will pop up:
Data Items transferred more than once to the Output window are displayed with the next available extract mode:
The Excel output:
  • Column C – the sum total for all the transactional values for each of the Asset Codes
  • Column D – the sum total for all the different values for each of the Asset Code
  • Column E – the number of transactions for each Asset Code
  • Column F – the number of different transaction values for each Asset Code
  • Column G – the average for all the transaction values for each Asset Code. This is the same as if you had entered the formula “=Base Amount (Sum)/Base Amount (Count)”.
