Page 1 of 2 By the end of this session, you will be able to create a report using Data Fill. The Data Fill function enables the extraction of a snapshot report combining reference and transaction data. OverviewUse Data Fill to extract summary details and reference master file information from your SunSystems data into an Excel worksheet. For example, extract the sum of transactions for each Account Code/Period combination. You could add T0 code to the output to return multiple lines for an account code if the movements are from more than one T0 Code.
Go to “Vision XL”->”Data Fill”. You will extract a Data Fill for an account code range for the current period. You will output data items Account Code, CA\Description and Base Amount. Choose LA –Ledger Table, select the range of accounts and double-click LA\Period in the Filter window: Click here to see the screenshotThe output window should look like this: Tab2 Choose “Classic 1” in the Auto Format frame, uncheck “Output Table Names” and save this format as a Workbook file. Click OK. The Excel extract will look the following way: The Data Fill has returned a row for each Account Code. The Base Amount has an Extract Mode of Sum and therefore the values are totaled at the summary level of Account Code.
As it was pointed out several times you can always reopen your saved in a Workbook File definition form change it, save it as a new Workbook file and re-run it in the future. By using the Workbook function, several Data Fill reports can be attached to one spreadsheet. Small changes to the setup can have make a profound difference to the way that the report looks.
Add some new items to the Data Fill definition form, save it as a new Workbook File.
