Your Navigation Manager Editor should now look similar to the one shown below:

Now let’s create a new folder which contains a function link to an external application.  For this example we are going to use Microsoft Excel.
  • Right click on the SunSystems folder and select Insert Folder
  • Name this folder Spreadsheets

  • Right click on the new Spreadsheets folder and select Insert Function
  • Complete the fields as shown selecting External this time as the Executable Type

Complete the Function Properties as shown below and click OK to return to Navigation Manager Editor
After completing Function Properties you will be automatically returned to Navigation Manager Editor where we can save all the changes we have made to the Navigation Manager tool bar.  If you wish to save your changes as a new Operator Group file, select File, Save As.
  • Select File on the toolbar and Save 01ZZZZZ.OPX.
Now we are going to check all the changes made to Navigation Manager back into the server.
  • Select Check In icon from the toolbar once you have completed your changes
  • Select file group 01ZZZZZ.OPX and click Check In

  • Click Yes to save changes
  • Close Navigation Manager Editor
  • Log out of SunSystems and log back in as the DEM operator
Your new menu structure on the Naviagation Pane should look similar to the one shown below.

The NME structure is stored in a XML file with the extention OPX in your sunsystems application folder.
NME has been replaces in 5.3.1

....by User Group Menu Designer (UGM).

You have to add access to it in User Manager for each group under Menu Items and then once logged into SunSystems, right click and add function to be able to see it.

Took a while to find that!!!
