Operator groups are used to apply security at a data, action and function level to a collective of operators. All operators in the group have the same menu.
Operator Group Setup (OGS) Each time you create a new Operator Group a corresponding menu option must be created in Navigation Manager Editor. Operator Group Code Enter a code to identify this operator group. You can use any alphanumeric characters except '*' asterisk. SunSystems is issued with a default group defined as 'ZZZZZ' Default System Operator Group. The group is set up with no restrictions, so members of this group can access all functions and all types of data. This default operator group is automatically created by the Business Unit Create and Data Migration functions. You cannot delete an operator group until its associated operators have been deleted or reassigned to another operator group. Password Interval Enter the number of days for which this group's Operator Id passwords are valid. When the password expiration is reached, operators in this group are prompted at log in with the message: Password expired; enter a new password. Users must enter a password they have not used before. Individual users can amend their own passwords using Change Password (CPA). Password Length Enter the minimum length for passwords used by operators belonging to this operator group. Once you have set the minimum length of characters, operators cannot create passwords with fewer characters than the number specified. If you want passwords and their lengths to be optional, enter '0' zero. Leave blank to use the minimum password length set for the default operator group.
