Asset disposal can be carried out manually by posting all of the relevant journals in Ledger Entry (LE).

You must post the sales proceeds prior to disposal of an asset.

The disposal process is as follows:

You can use Asset Disposal to:

    Report on assets selected for disposal.

    Reverse transactions on an asset record so that the asset's net value is zero.

If asset posting preset subcodes have been used to apportion the depreciation values across a series of analysis codes using the preset factors, the same factors are used to apportion the accumulated depreciation disposal postings.

At the end of this session you will be able to:
          Select a group of assets or single asset for disposal.
          Dispose of Assets.

You can use Asset Disposal Selection (ASE) to set this status for a group of assets. Alternatively, you can set the status on an individual asset in Fixed Asset Setup (FAS) and specify the disposal period.

Enter the asset selection details in Asset Disposal Selection.

From the Action menu select Process to select the assets and change the asset status.
