Page 9 of 9 Report Designer Report Designer- RD is used to combine re-usable components from libraries (.rol files) into specific report designs (.rod files) and to set the formatting and position on the page of the report components. To access Report Designer from Navigation Manager select Setting up SunSystems, Tools, RD - Report Designer. Data source and visual components may be included from libraries generated by Data Source Designer or directly from libraries of components specifically created for use with SunSystems. Reports are based on templates which are 'empty' report designs containing structure and SunSystems integration components but no data source or associated visual components. Report Designer may also be used to amend the example reports issued in the ReportSource folder. In order to run a new or amended report design against the database it must first be compiled into an executable file (.rox). This is the first stage in the process of running the report in Report Designer, which then continues to run the executable and generate a Report Instance file (.roi). A .roi file is a snapshot of the data at the point of time which it is run.
Once the executable has been generated it can be run at any time using Report Manager. Executables for all reports are included in the SSReports program folder. Only registered users can write comments. Please login or register.
