Drill Association Designer.
As the name suggests, Drill Association Designer allows for the creation and maintenance of SunSystems drills. Using the simplicity of point-and-click and drag-and-drop methods, it combines the power of the SunSystems data dictionary with an uncomplicated WYSIWYG layout and design tool. With Drill Association Designer you can:
Select data items to be used in your drill.
Specify drill filters and the type of drill to be created.
Specify run time parameters.
Select a form to display the results extracted by your drill, dependent on your Data Access Group.
The Drill Association Designer window is split into three main areas which may be moved and sized as required:
1. Data Item Hierarchy
2. Data Item List
3. Drill Edit Window.
Also displayed on the screen are menus, toolbars and a status bar at the bottom of the screen that displays the current Operator Id and keyboard settings such as CAPS and NUM lock.
Once a filter type has been selected the Data Item Hierarchy and Data Item List are populated with information about the filter type.
The Drill Edit Window shows the specification of the drill when the drill has been opened.
Creating a New Drill
To create a new drill:
Highlight the required data item on the list.
Double click on the item, or from the File menu select New. The Create New Drill Association dialog is displayed.
Enter a Lookup Code and Description.
Use the radio buttons to choose between:
Drill Function - select from the drop down list of business functions.
Note: Drill Function will be available in a later version of Drill Association Designer.
Drill Filter - select from the drop down list of available filters. You can only drill to a Filter if it contains run time parameters. If it does not contain any, a warning message is displayed. See Associating a Run Time Parameter for more information.

If you are working in Full Mode an additional set of radio buttons is displayed to allow you to select the Drill Scope.
