You can define Vision Executive criteria using the Define Criteria definition form. Begin by selecting a Data Type of Blank, SunSystems, Mixed or ODBC; the definition form alters according. Start Vision Exec Query Designer by going to Vision for SunSystems -> Executive Query. Provide your user name and password.
The Vision Exec Query Designer main screen will be displayed.

Overview
Vision Executive is an inquiry and reporting tool that can be used by any business executive to directly access and analyse data held in a SunSystems database. Vision Executive is a powerful data inquiry and reporting system that allows you to examine data held in SunSystems databases.
Vision Executive has been purpose-built to operate with SunSystems. It utilises knowledge of the SunSystems file structure and the analysis code structure to anticipate user requirements. This means designing the most complex inquiry, i.e. a query, is a very simple process. The design of Vision Executive embodies an understanding of SunSystems data structure, making complex data inquiries easy to design.
Vision Executive goes well beyond the simple query. Vision Executive allows you to examine financial data with tools such as Drilldown and Data Matrix.

Very often there is a situation when you need to attach some additional information to a ledger transaction. For example a partial payment, when you split an invoice amount into two parts, but you want to retain the invoice initial amount. In normal circumstances the initial amount will disappear once the amount has been split.
One of the additional fields can be populated with the invoice initial amount and stay there for as long as it's required.
First you have to setup additional fields. Additional Fields Setup (AFS) allows you to create 25 additional general description fields and 5 general date fields.

Too early to tell if migration plans have been successful

Infor, the US-based business software consolidator, has hit out at rival Coda’s attempts to lure away its SunSystems users.
Doug Bilsby, vice president of Infor’s operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said not a single SunSystems customer had made the switch to Coda following the launch of Coda’s SunSystems migration plan in February.
