Partner recognised for selling the highest value of SunSystems licenses in 2004
 
Systems Union Group plc has awarded Sapphire Systems plc the number one Global SunSystems Partner award for the third consecutive year. Sapphire's managing director, Ian Caswell, accepted the award at Systems Union’s recent Global Sales Kick-Off conference.

Caswell attributes Sapphire’s achievement to its focus on customer satisfaction and the attitude of its staff. "We have built a superb team of individuals working in all areas of our business from sales through implementation to after sales service," he said. "Our team knows that our success depends on the continued satisfaction of our existing and future customers and our partnership with Systems Union is intrinsic to our achievement of this." Oesterreichische Kontrollbank (OeKB) recently ranked fifth in the SQL Server Magazine Innovator Award competition with a MIS solution for liquidity management. Austria’s Export Credit Agency (ECA), which acts as the agent of the Republic of Austria, was the only European enterprise to secure a top placing in the international contest.

For the third year running, the American SQL Server Magazine honored innovative IT solutions based on SQL Server technology that have enabled users to successfully master difficult challenges. All in all, the panel judged over 300 projects during 2004. At the awards ceremony held on November 8th, managing editor Kathy Blomstrom announced, “This year, we received perhaps the highest quality of entries ever. Shell Europe Oil Products for Central and Eastern Europe (SEOP CEE), part of the Shell group of energy and petrochemical companies, has selected SunSystems Purchase Requisitioning as its procurement solution of choice for 4 of its sites across the central European region.

As its global operations became more complex so too did the procurement cycle, involving a large number of suppliers with different cost structures and buying procedures being utilized around the business. The result was that the procurement process was becoming increasingly difficult and costly to administer, control and manage. SEOP CEE therefore decided to reconcile these inconsistencies and standardize the rather disparate purchasing processes used by its different business units across central Europe and sought to find a functionally rich solution that could be deployed internationally, rapidly and cost effectively.
